Welcome to Patna Law College

"Salus Populi Suprema Lex"

       One of the jewels constituting Patna University is Patna Law College. The College, located on the bank of the holy river Ganges, is premier institution of Law in India, having the status of one the oldest institutions for legal studies in Country. Established in the year 1909, it remained as Government Law College with complete management control of Directorate of Public Instruction, Bihar, Patna until 1st January 1952, thereafter the College became the constituent unit of Patna University and is continuing as such. The Patna Law College is permanently recognized by the Bar Council of India, New Delhi.
       The Patna Law College has a glorious past and rosy future. It is well known for producing legal luminaries of National & International repute. It has the privilege of producing two Chief Justices of India and a galaxy of Supreme Court and High Court Judges. The college feels proud of floating the names of Mr. Justice Late B.P. Sinha and Mr. Justice L. M. Sharma who brighten the Patna Law College as becoming the Chief Justices of India. A galaxy of Supreme Court and also High Court Judges, who have graduated from Patna Law College demonstrate the testimony of the academic credentials of Patna Law College.
       The college, which enjoys permanent affiliation by the Bar Council of India, imparts instructions as per the updated syllabi prescribed by the B.C.I. for Three-year Law course leading to LL.B Degree of the Patna University and the Students are awarded Law Degree after successful completion of the Three-year course and Passing all the Three-year course and passing all the three Law Examination(LL.B. Part I ,Part II, Part III) conducted by the University.
